In recognition of International Women’s Day on 8 March, this week’s Windback Wednesday highlights some of the remarkable women in our City’s history who helped shape South Australia. From social reformers to pioneering artists and visionary winemakers, these women left lasting legacies—not only through major achievements, but also through small, everyday acts that brought people together.

International Women’s Day is a global celebration of women’s social, cultural, economic, and political achievements, and a reminder of the ongoing work toward equality, respect, and opportunity for all. #IWD2026 #GiveToGain
